Like it or not, chemicals are a part of our everyday lives, and they play a huge role throughout the life cycle of every product we use—including promotional products. The challenge with managing chemicals is that the current regulatory framework has resulted in a patchwork of state and local standards. So, how can you improve product safety and identify potentially harmful chemical exposures that are beyond legal limits for humans and the environment?
To find out, QCA is hosting the webinar “Sustainability & Chemicals Management” on Monday, June 22, 2pm ET / 11am PT. We’ll be joined by Jamie Deer, compliance manager at Polyconcept North America (PCNA), who will cover the importance of having a strong chemicals management program in place and how that should become part of a company’s sustainability program. She’ll give a brief background on the regulatory framework surrounding chemicals, explain why having an RSL is just not enough and identify chemicals of concern.
Deer has been working within the field of compliance for 15 years. With a BS in biology and an MS in environmental science and management, she began her career working in regulatory compliance for a global EHS&T Services company ChemADVISOR (now a UL company) with a primary focus on European chemical regulations. Prior to joining the PCNA team, she worked for American Eagle Outfitters and Walmart in product safety and corporate compliance at a regional level. Deer also has a certificate in sustainability from Chatham University. Connect with her on LinkedIn and follow PCNA’s Leed’s brand here and Bullet Line here.
